Mick Wallace Criticises Parliament, Condemns EPP Walkout on Nature Law
Mick Wallace criticised parliament for undermining environmental laws and condemned the EPP for walking out of negotiations on the nature restoration law. Mick Wallace accused the parliament of playing a destructive role in recent debates and said major groups inside the chamber are attacking key environmental laws to preserve corporate and fossil fuel interests.
Impact on Italian farmers
He highlighted the effects on people and farmers of Italia, saying last year over 70% of the rice crop in Italy was destroyed by lack of rain and that this year crops will be threatened by too much water.

The speaker blamed soil degradation on the long-term use of artificial chemical fertiliser and pesticides, arguing that deteriorated soil cannot absorb excess water and worsens crop losses.
