Mattie McGrath: Save Old Bulmer and Fix Short-Term Lets

Minister Burke, I want to thank you for coming to Llanmeldir some time ago and visiting what is known as the Old Bulmer site in the right centre of the town and it's a project that needs to be developed, something on the lines of the Guinness storehouse you know, something on the same nature, as you saw the vats and the old history and the feeling of the work that went on there and the craftsmanship with the old barrels and the many, many hundreds of people who worked there I remember the local oak drawing in Appleton on a tractor and trailer back in the 60s Minister, Tipperary is a very proud county and indeed we have Tipperary Tourism doing their best but if you start from South Tipperary to Rockacastle, and of course the wonderful cultural centres brought to fruition there by Éireann Seanad Óire, Lá Rosamóir Uí Chúa agus a Ban Céalla Una and the culture that's there as well, and we also need to move on then down along to Caircastle Cair Development Association, there's so much development around in Cair Tidey towns and also, I can't say enough about the community groups, Knockmeldown Active, Knockmeldown Crossing and indeed, you know, all the different groups have their own music festivals but they're struggling and not getting enough support, they need more support and we need more connectivity as well you wind in there to Carrickinshore, the Arm and Castle, the castle in Carrickinshore is also a wonderful castle the whole Arm and Castle trail could be more interlinked and indeed more connectivity in there so, we want to get the tourists in and we want to look after them and give them the product again, my focal score, Minister, I want to say to you that you're such a confusing mess the government have with the short term lets, people who have developed in the farmyards and adjacent to the farmhouses and have their little businesses going there, and the total limbo which you don't know where they're coming and going
