Conor D McGuinness urges ban on bulk home purchases

Conor D McGuinness urges ban on bulk home purchases

Conor D McGuinness urged the minister to ban the bulk purchase of homes, accusing government parties and certain independents of protecting vested interests. He said his side stands with workers and families and demanded immediate action to stop bulk buying of housing.

Call for ban on bulk purchases

He called on the minister to ban the bulk purchase of homes, repeating that bulk purchasing of homes "could not be tolerated" when previously criticised by another senior politician and arguing it is now occurring under that politician's oversight.

Accusations against parties and independents

He accused Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Lowry and Healey Ray independents of protecting vested interests that allow bulk buying to continue, framing the issue as one of power and priorities.

Solidarity with workers and families

He said his side of the House is standing with workers and families affected by the housing market and presented the ban as necessary to protect ordinary buyers.
