EU leaders and the 'happy vassal' critique
Murphy cited remarks by Bart Deweyver at Davos and accused European leaders of seeking to be a "happy vassal" to the US rather than standing up for sovereignty. He challenged the minister directly - asking whether the state is a "happy vassal" or a "miserable slave" - and criticised continued appeasement of the new US president.
Allegations on foreign policy and domestic parties
He accused Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Lowry Group of "bootlicking" and of appeasement despite, in his words, supporting and enabling atrocities. Murphy said the state had funded, armed and supported what he called the genocide in Gaza for over two years and backed the "apartheid state of Israel for decades," and he highlighted a broken promise on the occupied territories bill.
