Mattie McGrath urges more debate time for minister on Leaving Cert

Mattie McGrath raised concerns about problems with the Leaving Cert and special needs and urged more time for the minister in the debate tomorrow. He began by wishing everyone a Happy New Year and aligned his remarks with Margot Clancola.

Opening remarks

Mattie McGrath opened by extending New Year greetings and referencing Margot Clancola's earlier comments, signalling agreement with the points already made in the debate.

Issues raised

He said a huge proportion of the problems sit with the Leaving Cert and special needs, identifying those areas as the core concerns he wished to highlight in the chamber.

Request for additional debate time

McGrath called for more time to be allocated to the forthcoming debate so the minister can address the problems raised, pressing for an extended opportunity to discuss Leaving Cert and special needs issues tomorrow.

Margot Clancola, I too would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I'm on the same vein, the huge proportion of problems are with the Leaving Cert and the special needs and with Minister Foley. I think we should give more time in that debate tomorrow for Minister Foley.
