Richard O'Donoghue: Hails 27,000 at Eithlund, Blasts Party Silence
Richard O'Donoghue spoke about an Independent Ireland protest in Eithlund where 27,000 people turned out and defended Independent Ireland's role in campaigning on the quality of food coming into the country. He said Sinn Féin and the Greens attended while he did not see People Before Profit, Labour or the SOC Dems, and he accused Fianna Fáil and Fianna Gael MEPs of silence in European committees.

He said the protest in Eithlund was organised by an MEP, Ciarán Mululi, Michael Fitzmorris and the Independent Ireland team and drew 27,000 people from across different areas of the country.

He noted that Sinn Féin and the Greens attended the event, and that he saw other deputies from Fianna Fáil and Fianna Gael present. He also addressed "Laskan, Colour," saying he saw them at the protest.
Criticism of absent parties and MEPs
He stated he did not see People Before Profit, Labour or the SOC Dems at the protest and accused Fianna Fáil and Fianna Gael of being silent in Europe. He criticised other parties for trying to stop independents getting on committees and called for audits of those committees to examine what MEPs are saying there.
Independent Ireland's stance on food quality
He asserted that Independent Ireland and the independents have been the only ones speaking up for Ireland on the issue of quality food coming into the country and urged other politicians to stand up for Ireland rather than their own interests.

It wasn't about just the farmers. They all came to support an independent Ireland protest that was organised by an MEP, Ciarán Mululi, Michael Fitzmorris and the independent Ireland team. But they came and supported it. I didn't see people before profit there. I didn't see Labour there. I didn't see the SOC Dems there when this is about quality of food for the people for Ireland. Laskan, Colour, I saw you there. I saw other deputies from this house, from Fianna Fáil and Fianna Gael there. So they don't believe of your silence in Europe. Independent Ireland and the independents are the only ones that have been talking up for Ireland and quality of food coming into Ireland in Europe. So what are the rest of you doing over there? All you've done is trying to stop independents getting on committees to talk up for Ireland. It's about time we now audited the committees to see what Fianna Fáil and Fianna Gael are saying over at the committees. And any other MEP that are over there from the other parties. Have you opened your mouth? Are you just over there for the dollars? Sit in your backside and forget about the people in Ireland and the quality of food that needs to come into this country. That's what this is about. Independent Ireland stood up for this country and the quality of food coming into this country. It's about time you stood up for Ireland and not for yourselves.
