Gino Kenny Pays Tribute to Vicky, Urges Cervical Screening Reform
Gino Kenny spoke about the death of Vicky, offering condolences and recalling her campaigning. He urged that Vicky's wish - that the cervical screening programme not be outsourced and be brought home - be honoured.
Condolences and remembrance
He addressed Carla and said that Vicky's family and close friends knew this day would come. He said that they took Vicky to their collective hearts and that now their hearts are broken, and he offered condolences to Jim, Dara and Amelia.
Personal campaigning history
He described getting to know Vicky a number of years ago in relation to the issue around the sister dying. He noted that she was very vocal about that issue and had asked others to pledge to keep supporting and campaigning for it.
Cervical screening demand
He highlighted Vicky's other wish that the cervical screening programme would not be outsourced and that it would be brought home. He said that this wish needs to be honoured and that they owe it to her memory and her family.
