You'll be aware that since Brexit Rosslare Europort has seen an increase in freight of some 350%, which is obviously very welcome. However, Rosslare Harbour Village is inundated with truck parking right across the village. This despite the fact that the old customs post, when I say old, it was fully refurbished and fully resurfaced and lined out and now has capacity for approximately 50 trucks. However, it is locked and inaccessible. And in the meantime, people within the village have to endure trucks parking all over the place. Can I ask that a bit of common sense would be used and that this old customs post, which was totally refurbished to be used prior to the massive investment in Rosslare Harbour, can I ask that this old customs post be made available to allow these trucks to park up whilst they await attending their ships? I have been engaging with revenue officials in relation to this and they've informed me that the old customs facility is being used to facilitate truck parking, but I'm told the site is owned and managed by the OPW. So what I'm going to do in front of you raising it is ask both Minister Chambers and Minister Boxer-Moran to ask that they engage with you, but also that the OPW might engage too with revenue and see if we can make progress on this.
