Martin Daly: Commits to Shift Issue from Health to Agriculture

Martin Daly: Commits to Shift Issue from Health to Agriculture

Martin Daly thanks experts and attendees after a committee discussion and pledges to work with Senator Paul Daly to advance moving the matter from the Department of Health to the Department of Agriculture. He identifies that the current rate limiting step is jurisdiction and says shifting responsibility is the immediate priority.

Acknowledgement and next steps

Martin Daly opens by thanking Eugene, Raymond and the experts for their briefing. He commits to continuing to learn from the group and to collaborate with Senator Paul Daly and other committee members to push the issue forward.

Jurisdictional hurdle

Daly highlights the practical barrier: until the matter is moved out of Health and into Agriculture, progress will be constrained. He identifies that moving jurisdiction is the first priority to enable further action.

Expert turnout and significance

He praises the panel of specialists present and describes the turnout as impressive, reinforcing the importance of the discussion. Daly frames the session as the start of work that will continue in committee with a focus on delivering results.

I just want to thank everyone for coming today, since I had that chat with you Eugene and Raymond. You educated me on this and I stand to learn more about it as we go along. I'll work with Senator Paul Daly here and anyone else on the committee, but I'll work with Senator Paul Daly who has taken this by the bull by the horn so to speak and try and push this on. Because I think it's extremely important, the story is a really good story, but he is absolutely right, until it's moved out of health into agriculture, that's the first, that's the rate limiting step at this time. I think that's what we need to get moving on. But thanks everyone, I mean Eugene I did say bring an array of experts, you brought a stellar cast and I have to say a very very impressive turnout. So thank you again for coming here today, I appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you.
