Lynn Boylan, speaking on behalf of the left, called for urgent defence of the International Criminal Court and demanded execution of arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galand. She criticised the EU for failing to defend judges and the UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese amid sanctions and attacks.
Main demand
Lynn Boylan sets out a clear demand: the work of the ICC must be respected and arrest warrants for alleged war criminals like Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galand must be executed. She frames the ICC as a cornerstone of international law and accountability for war crimes.
EU response and failures
Boylan accuses the EU of inaction as the ICC has been attacked and judges sanctioned. She says the EU has done nothing while the UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has been attacked and sanctioned for speaking about the conduct of the Israeli government.
Human cost and international risk
The speech highlights the human toll in Lebanon, naming displacement of more than 700,000 people, including 200,000 children, and condemns what she calls illegal attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran. Boylan warns that failure to defend international law risks allowing those horrors to spread beyond the Middle East and Latin America.
Broader implications
Addressing imperialism and accountability, Boylan links actions in the Middle East and Latin America to a wider threat to international law. She urges political institutions to defend the ICC, protect judges and uphold the authority of international justice mechanisms.

Thank you very much. The next speaker on behalf of the left is Lynn Boylan. Go raibh maith agat, Uachtarán. As Israel and the United States illegally attack Iran, and as the Israeli government violates the sovereignty of Lebanon and displaces more than 700,000 people, 200,000 of which are children, as Trump unleashes the brutal hand of imperialism on Latin America, the role of the International Criminal Court has never been more important. The EU has done nothing as the ICC has been attacked and as judges have been sanctioned for doing their jobs. The EU has failed to defend the UN Special Rapporteur, Francesca Albanese, as she has been attacked and sanctioned for telling the truth about the genocidal Israeli regime. The ICC is a cornerstone of international law and accountability for war crimes. Their work must be respected and the arrest warrants for war criminals like Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galand must be executed. If we do not defend the ICC and international law, then the horrors that we see in the Middle East and in Latin America will eventually come for all of us.
