Mattie McGrath Accuses Government of Ignoring Ordinary People
Deputy Mattie McGrath accused ministers and senior leaders of abandoning the working poor, small farmers and ordinary workers in favour of global interests. He criticised the government's ties to big business, tech companies and international leaders, warning that ordinary people are being left to suffer.

He warned of a coming backlash, saying the public will deliver a "rude awakening" and that ministers should "hang your heads in shame" for abandoning ordinary people. McGrath urged the government to face the realities of poverty and rural decline rather than defending globalised interests.

Minister, we have to get real here, I know you are in here, you are a minister, but look, we have no interest in the working poor, we have no interest in the small farmer, we have no interest in the Nadine and Biuge icon, I don't mean the stature, the ordinary humble people of Ireland, let them eat cake, if she was here now, that's the attitude of, the Taoiseach, the Tarnasher, globalists is what they are, looking at the big globals, bring in all the tech companies and everything else, and screw our own unfortunate people, I said to you three, they will die on the side of the road, they will be standing there, having the hunger, the farmers are going to be forced out of business, and forced into poverty, because of the fertiliser crisis and everything else, and it is shocking, the way the workers are treated in this country, shocking, I am an employer, and many of my colleagues are, and we try and have a good relationship with our staff, and look after them, but big companies, having time to checkouts, how long they are, how quick they are scanning the things in, they are making them like machines, and it is all part of the global economy we bought into, with your leader, and his friendship with the famous Prime Minister, Prime Minister Trudeau, and we all this, they eat at the G7, to hell with the ordinary people, and we commemorate 1916, and we commemorate 1923, and commemorate something else, Dublin Castle, two weeks ago, I wouldn't go near the place, because they are turning in the graves, with the kind of, kind of vultures they left behind them, but you turned into vultures, and support all the big business, support everybody else, forget about the ordinary people, look at the wages, as Deputy Tobin said, of the HSE, to the other, and they out in Dubai last week, looking at the best practice hospital, they would know a hospital from an elephant, that's what they wouldn't, because they have no experience in the field, but they can get pay rises anytime they like, and unequal, divide and conquer attitude, that you have in government here, is shocking, it is disgraceful, it is despicable, but it is a handbook, the one over the world, just keep the people down, you are going to get a rude awakening, I said it before, they are waiting in the long grass, there is a fair bit of long grass this year, because it will have a very mild winter, and you have no beds to hide, you should run, but you can't hide, you should hang your heads in shame.
