Paul Murphy Thanks Parliamentary Staff, Jokes About TDs and Senators

Paul Murphy thanked the parliamentary staff for keeping the institution running and wished them a happy Christmas. He said he would not want to be in many of their positions, given the challenge of dealing with many of the TDs and senators.

Thanks to staff

Murphy opened with a brief expression of gratitude for the staff who "make this place tick", acknowledging their day-to-day work in supporting parliamentary business.

Remark on TDs and senators

He remarked that he "wouldn't want to be in many of your position" when it comes to dealing with many of the TDs and senators, highlighting the pressures staff can face from elected representatives.

Brief and informal delivery
